Read Write Inc phonics

At De Beauvoir, we use ReadWriteInc to learn our sounds and letters. The children in Year 2 are confident reading and writing using their phonics. Try watching this video to learn about saying pure sounds and listening to the different sounds that your child is learning in Year 2. 

When doing reading or writing at home, remind your child to use their phonics to support them.

TT Rockstars

 As part of your home learning, ensure that you are going on TT Rockstars everyday to practise your times tables. Knowing your times tables will enable you to solve calculations and maths problems quickly and efficiently. Currently upper Key Stage 2 are dominating the top 3 positions on our leadership, do you think you could beat them? Well done to Rushane in Year 5 and Jamila and David in Year 6.

Today, we are going to be solving the Friday Maths Challenge using White Rose Maths (Summer Term, Week 9, Friday Maths Challenge). On the White Rose website there is a video lesson explaining the strategies you will need and providing exercises for you to practise at home.

Billy and the Dragon, Firework alliteration
