Worry dolls

Our lesson today is based on the story of Silly Billy.
Click on the video to have a listen.

What does feeling 'worried' mean?
Can you remember what is making Billy worried?
Why do you think the worry dolls are worried?
What could you do if you were feeling worried?

Feeling worried is very normal. Everyone worries about something at some point, even parents and teachers! When you are worried, you might feel sick, unsure, nervous or even a little confused.
One of the ways we can manage our worried is by talking to someone about them. Who could you talk to about your worries?

You could talk to your parents, an older sibling and even your teachers when they call you each week. There are also other ways to manage the feeling of being worried. What else could you do to calm your body down? One of my favourite things to do is to write down my thoughts in a diary and to practice mindful colouring.

Can you think of something that you are worried about? Write it down in a thought bubble.

Once you have collected all of your materials, follow the steps to make your worry doll. Don't worry if you haven't got all the materials that are listed, be creative and use what you have at home!
