Well done everyone who had a go at answering the money problems yesterday - excellent work!
Today I have been looking in my purse and I've found lots of copper coins.
How much money do I have?
Write out the number sentence to show me how you worked it out.
Did you count in 2s to help you?
How else could you make this same amount using different coins?
For an EXTRA challenge have a go at solving this problem.

Hi Mrs Binnie,
ReplyDeleteFor the money in your purse I counted
15 2ps and
10 1ps so
15 x 2 = 30
10 x 1 = 10
so you have 40p in total
other ways to make 40p are:
20p, 20p or
10p, 10p, 10p, 5p, 5p or
20p, 10p, 10p
Extra challenge:
Theo has 79p in his piggy bank
Theo could buy just the drink or he could buy a lolly, apple and crisps
Great work Marcus - I like that you've used your times tables again!

ReplyDeleteI counted all the 2ps and this gave me 30
I then added all the 1 ps and this gave me 10
I added the 30 and 10 together and got 40 pence.
Brilliant! Well done Lanesra - keep up the great work! From Mrs Binnie
